Locast is a live TV streaming service offering access to local TV affiliates in 36 markets. The service has been suspended because of a legal fight with broadcasters. Whether or not it returns, viewers have other options to watch local channels for free.

How to Sign Up and Download Locast on Samsung Smart TV

Unfortunately, Locast is not currently available natively using Samsung Smart TV. Locast may launch a native app for Samsung Smart TV in the future, but for now you can only stream using Apple AirPlay (2018+ models).

You can still watch Locast on other devices like Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV, Google Chromecast, Roku, Android TV, iPhone/iPad, LG Smart TV, Sony Smart TV, and VIZIO Smart TV.

Apple AirPlay

  1. Install the Locast iPhone/iPad app.
  2. Make sure your Smart TV is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your iPhone/iPad.
  3. Start playing the content in the Locast app and select the AirPlay icon.
  4. Choose your Samsung Smart TV and it will start displaying on your Smart TV.

If you have a compatible TV and you don’t see AirPlay as an option, make sure you update to the latest Samsung Smart TV firmware.
