CBS Officially Launches Dabl, Free Lifestyle OTA Network with Martha Stewart and Emeril Lagasse
Between their streaming networks like CBSN, ET Live, and CBS Sports HQ — it’s clear that CBS is riding the cord-cutting wave. Now, they’ve officially launched their latest, a free, ad-supported lifestyle network called Dabl (“Dabble”).
The network, which is a “diginet” or a sub-channel on an OTA network will focus on library content in the lifestyle category. The network is available OTA in all top 25 markets — and 80% of all markets, but it is also available to stream online. Two big names are tied to the venture — home and lifestyle guru, Martha Stewart, and celebrity chef, Emeril Lagasse.
“We’re thrilled to bring to life a new, free network where viewers can indulge 24/7 in lifestyle content from iconic personalities like Martha Stewart and Emeril Lagasse,” said Steve LoCascio, Chief Operating and Financial Officer of CBS Global Distribution Group.
The channel’s inaugural lineup will feature daily airings of The Martha Stewart Show and Martha Stewart Living, along with The Essence of Emeril during the week. Other programming on the channel brings the type of content you would see on other lifestyle channels like HGTV & Food Network including home renovation, DIY, food, and entertaining.
The company began their streaming efforts in November 2014, with the launch of CBSN, a 24/7 streaming news service. Just last week, they launched their second localized version of the channel called CBSN Los Angeles. In addition to CBS Sports HQ and ET Live, the company also has CBS All Access — which brings live access to your local CBS affiliate, original shows, and on demand access to CBS primetime programming.
