DAZN — the live sports streaming service — focused on boxing and MMA announced a five-year global partnership with Golden Boy Promotions that brings superstar Canelo Alvarez to the live and on-demand service for his next 11 fights.
Following his win over Gennady “GGG” Golovkin in September, the deal speculated at $365 million would be the most lucrative deal for a single athlete in sports history.
His first appearance on DAZN will be on December 15th from Madison Square Garden as he challenges Rocky Fielding (27-1, 15 KOs) for his WBA Super Middleweight title.
Additionally, the partnership will see Oscar De La Hoya’s Golden Boy Promotions hold up to 10 high-caliber fight nights per year that DAZN will stream live and exclusively from early 2019 around the world including the United States.
Oscar De La Hoya’s 7,000-hour library of fights spanning his career as a boxer and a promoter are included in the partnership and these classic bouts will be available on DAZN.
DAZN which launched in the U.S. in September offers 80+ fights a year from Matchroom USA, Bellator, Golden Boy Promotions, World Boxing Super Series and Combate Americas.
Sport fans will be able to watch all Canelo and 10 Golden Boy Promotions fights a year for $9.99 a month after a 1-month free trial.
