fuboTV Subscribers Watched Over Three Billion Minutes in the Second Quarter of 2019

fuboTV announced today that their subscribers watched three billion minutes of content on the service in Q2, up nearly 200% year-over-year, while hours per subscriber in June 2019 grew 137% YOY, driven by significant increases in viewing on connected TVs.

The sports-focused virtual MVPD continues to add new, premium content, with networks from Turner and Viacom (among others) added over the past year, and Discovery’s channels coming soon. As fuboTV evolves into a cable replacement for the entire family, entertainment was actually the most-watched category in June 2019 (42%, up from 20% in June 2018), followed by sports (38%) and news/talk (20%, up from 12%).

This news shows that the live TV streamer is continuing to grow. At the end of the fourth quarter last year, fuboTV announced that they reached all-time records — including exceeding an annual run rate (ARR) of $100 million in September 2018, as well as surpassing company records for average revenue per user (ARPU), paid subscribers and time spent per subscriber, with double- and triple-digit, year-over-year growth across all of the above.

Inspite of some price hikes earlier this year, the company’s growth comes as no surprise as they were the first—and still the only—virtual MVPD to offer their 4K HDR Beta which streams 4K broadcasts of NCAA college football, MLB playoffs, English Premier League soccer.
