Lakers to Play First Game Since Kobe Bryant’s Death — How to Stream the Game Live

The tragic death of Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant and his daughter Gianna, along with seven other victims, in a helicopter crash caused a ripple around the world last Sunday. His beloved Lakers, who he played for during his entire 20-year career, were scheduled to play against the Clippers on Tuesday, Jan. 28, but out of respect, the NBA postponed the game for a later day.

Now, the Lakers are once again gearing up to play for the first time since Bryant’s death, and they will face off against the Portland Trail Blazers at the Staples Center tonight in Los Angeles. The Los Angeles Times reported that “the Lakers plan tributes to Bryant at Friday’s game,” but Lakers coach Frank Vogel “declined to share what they would be.”

During their game against the Indiana Pacers last Sunday, the Blazers began with a 24-second violation and an eight-second backcourt violation in honor of the two numbers Bryant wore during his career, according to Yahoo Sports.

The Toronto Raptors and San Antonio Spurs also took turns with the 24-second violation during their game last Sunday, Business Insider said.

For their part, StubHub announced it will donate all proceeds made from ticket sales for the Lakers-Trail Blazers game to the Kobe & Vanessa Bryant Family Foundation, ABC7 in Los Angeles reported. According to ABC7, “The Bryant Foundation aims to improve the lives of families in need and strengthen communities through financial resources and cultural enrichment opportunities.”

Tip-off for today’s game is set for 7:30 pm P.T. and will air on ESPN and NBC Sports Northwest. To stream the game on ESPN, you can turn to Hulu + Live TV, Sling TV, YouTube TV and AT&T TV NOW. To stream NBC Sports Northwest, use fuboTV, Hulu + Live TV and YouTube TV.

If you have a cable subscription, you can stream it via the ESPN App using your TV Everywhere credentials.
