The two-hour finale of Netflix’s reality show “Love Is Blind” premieres today.
Hosted by Vanessa and Nick Lachey, the romance show has a simple premise: People don’t need to see each other to fall in love.
Or, in Netflix-speak, it’s a “journey of singles who want to be loved for who they are, rather than what they look like. They take a less conventional approach to modern dating, where they hope to meet the person they want to spend the rest of their lives with … without ever having seen them.”
“Love Is Blind” follows 30 men and women who only talk to each other. In traditional fashion, the men propose. The twist: The engaged couples head to a Mexican retreat where they suddenly see all the potential partners on offer. Later, the pairs move in together, meet their respective families and head to the altar.
For those already missing the series, which debuted February 13 as a three-week event, a reunion special arrives on March 5 on Netflix’s YouTube channel, according to Variety.
Separately, Netflix has cast Sandra Oh in “The Chair,” a new dramedy. The show, written by playwright-actress Amanda Peet, is set in an English department at a major university.
Another critically acclaimed Netflix show, “Atypical,” has been renewed for a fourth and final 10-episode season premiering in 2021.
