Uma Thurman to Headline New Apple TV+ Drama ‘Suspicion’

Fern Siegel

Uma Thurman has been cast in “Suspicion,” an Apple TV+ drama, reports Variety.

The series is adapted from the Israeli series “False Flag” and involves the kidnapping of an American businesswoman’s son. His capture — he is seized from a hotel in central New York — is caught on camera. Four Brits become key suspects.

Thurman, who plays the mother, is known for her work in director Quentin Tarantino’s “Pulp Fiction” and “Kill Bill, Vol 1 and 2.” Two years ago, Thurman starred in the Netflix series “Chambers,” which was axed after a single season.

“Suspicion” will also star Kunal Nayyar, who played Raj in “The Big Bang Theory,” Noah Emmerich (“Super 8”), Georgina Campbell (“Broadchurch”) and Elyes Gabel (“Game of Thrones”), per the trade magazine.

Rob Williams (“The Man in the High Castle”) will serve as showrunner and executive producer. Chris Long will direct and executive produce. He was a director on “The Mentalist” and producer for Apple TV+’s “Amazing Stories.” The future series will be produced in the U.K. by Keshet Productions.

On Tuesday, according to leaked iOS 14 code obtained by 9to5Mac, Apple is working on “a new Apple TV remote.” It also showed iOS 14 will offer a new workouts application developed for the streamer.

Also, Apple TV+ recently released the trailer for “Home Before Dark,” featuring Brooklynn Prince as a girl who juggles fourth grade and her investigative pursuits. The first three episodes launch April 3.
