Amazon Prime Video Launches on Comcast’s Xfinity X1 Platform

In August, Comcast announced that they planned to add Prime Video to their Xfinity X1 platform. This week it becomes a reality.

Joining the likes of Netflix and YouTube, Comcast customers can now directly stream Prime Video favorites like Jack Ryan and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel on their set-top box. Over the past year, Comcast has turned their X1 set-top box into less of a cable box and more of a fully integrated streaming device.

Matt Strauss, EVP Xfinity Services, Comcast Cable:

“Prime Video is a fantastic extension of the programming choices available to our customers. By integrating hundreds of thousands of live and on demand choices from the best networks, studios and streaming services, our customers can instantly search, control and watch all of their entertainment in one place with their voice.”

Customers will be able to search and navigate all Prime Originals or launch by saying “Amazon Prime Video” using their voice remote.

The app will roll-out to X1 customers nationwide starting this week. Customers will be able to login using their Prime credentials or will be directed to sign-up for a Prime Video standalone account from their smartphone, tablet, or computer.
