DarkMatter TV, Streaming Service Dedicated to Horror, Sci-Fi and Action, Will Launch Oct. 31

A new streaming service dedicated solely to horror, sci-fi, action and true crime films will be launching just in time for Halloween on Oct. 31. The ad-supported platform, called DarkMatter TV, will be available on Android, iOS, and a number of smart TV platforms.

DarkMatter, which was founded by TriCoast TV will offer access to 400 titles at launch. Horror classics like Deep Red and House on Haunted Hill (1959), as well as newer movies like Ip Man: The Final Fight, Anna Biller’s The Love Witch and Police Story: Lockdown, starring Jackie Chan will be available on the platform. TV shows licensed by DarkMatter include Australian comedy sci-fi series Soul Mates.

While most of this content can be found on other platforms, DarkMatter aims to set itself apart from the competition by expertly curating movies and shows in themed collections like “True Crime: Killer Content”, “Mind-Benders & Mad Scientists” and “Darkumentaries,” Variety reports.

At launch, DarkMatter will be available on all mobile apps as well as Roku, Fire TV, Apple TV, Android TV, LG and Samsung, PlayStation and Xbox One. Linear channels are also expected to come to the streaming service on ad-supported services like the Roku Channel in the near future.

DarkMatter is also available ad-free for $4.99 per month, or $49.99 per year. You can register for the service here.
