“Star Trek: Lower Decks” follows the lives of the support crew serving on one of Starfleet’s least important ships, the U.S.S. Cerritos, in 2380. Ensigns Mariner, Boimler, Rutherford and Tendi as they have to keep up with their duties and their social lives, often while the ship is being rocked by a multitude of sci-fi anomalies.
The series is the franchise’s first jab at a scripted comedy. The show was created by Mike McMahan, the writer behind “Rick and Morty,” and the animation studio that brought “Big Mouth” and “The Venture Brothers” according to Decider.
“Star Trek: Lower Decks” stars Tawny Newsome, Jack Quaid, Eugene Cordero, as well as Noël Wells. New episodes of the series will premiere on the streaming service every Thursday at 3 a.m. ET until the entire 10-episode first season wraps.
