Raducanu is the first tennis professional in the Open era — man or woman — to reach for a major tennis championship from a qualifying position. Fernandez’s run has been incredible, as she’s knocked off four straight ranked opponents en route to her Finals appearance. Ironically, her only unranked opponent is the last one standing in her way of winning the US Open. Fernandez defeated 3rd-ranked Naomi Osaka, 16th-ranked Angelique Kerber, 5th-ranked Elina Svitolina, and 2-ranked Aryna Sabalenka to get here.
A win by either woman would mark their first-ever Major title. Currently, Raducanu sits as the odds-on favorite at -185 according to DraftKings Sportsbook. Fernandez comes in at a +145 underdog.
