“The Kissing Booth 2” just came out last Friday, and yet, there’s already talk of a third installment. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the cast of the hit Netflix movie revealed the news to audiences during a live event on YouTube.

Apparently, the second and third installments were filmed at the same time, which allows “The Kissing Booth 3” to hit the platform in 2021 as production wrapped pre-pandemic.

The first movie was based on a novel by Beth Reekles. After debuting on the platform back in 2018, it became Netflix’s most rewatched movie for the year, Deadline reports. “The Kissing Booth” was directed and adapted into film by Vince Marcello for Komixx Entertainment, and was produced by Random House Children’s Screen Entertainment.

The films stars Joey King, Joel Courtney, Jacob Elordi, Taylor Zakhar Perez, Maisie Richardson-Sellers, Meganne Young and Molly Ringwald, who will all return for the third movie.

“The Kissing Booth 2” followed Noah, played by Jacob Elordi, as he was going away to Harvard, while his girlfriend Elle (Joey King) is about to start her senior year of high school in LA. The teen couple’s young love is tested as two new characters are introduced in the film — Marco, played by Taylor Zakhar Perez and Chloe, played by Maisie Richardson-Sellers.
