Paramount+ Reveals Broadcasting Schedule for Asian Football Confederation Matches

After landing the broadcasting rights to the Asian Football Confederation to start the summer, Paramount+ is revealing its AFC broadcasting schedule to end the summer. Today, Paramount+ announced coverage details for the AFC Asian Qualifiers – Road to Qatar Final Round and AFC Champions League.

AFC World Cup Qualifying Final Round action begins on Thursday, September 2 with every match streaming live on Paramount+. Asia’s top 12 nations will compete in 60 Final Round matches through March 2022. The top two AFC national teams in both groups will qualify for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, with all five qualifiers to the previous World Cup in Australia, Iran, Japan, Korea Republic, and Saudi Arabia vying for a spot. The AFC Asian Playoff, where the third-place teams in each group will face off for a potential fifth spot in the 2022 FIFA World Cup, will also stream live on Paramount+ in Summer 2022.

Here’s the list of matches that will air through September, exclusively on Paramount+:

AFC World Cup Qualifying Matches Through September

Thursday, September 2:

  • Japan vs. Oman 6:00 AM ET
  • Korea Republic vs. Iraq 7:00 AM ET
  • Iran vs. Syria 12:00 PM ET
  • UAE vs. Lebanon 12:45 PM ET
  • Saudi Arabia vs. Vietnam 2:00 PM ET
  • Australia vs. China 2:00 PM ET

Tuesday, September 7:

  • Korea Republic vs. Lebanon 7:00 AM ET
  • Vietnam vs. Australia 8:00 AM ET
  • China vs. Japan 11:00 AM ET
  • Syria vs. UAE 12:00 PM ET
  • Oman vs. Saudi Arabia 12:00 PM ET
  • Iraq vs. Iran 2:00 PM ET

Paramount+ will also be the exclusive streaming home to the AFC Champions League, which kicks off Monday, September 13. All 15 AFC Champions League matches through the Final in November will stream live on Paramount+.

Paramount Plus

With the lower-cost “Essential” plan, you will still be able to watch live NFL games, Champions League, and national news – but you will no longer get your local CBS affiliate.

With their new app, enjoy advanced recommendations, curated homepages, and new content categories while still being able to stream major live sports like NFL, College Football, College Basketball. Sports fans will also appreciate the service’s inclusion of NFL on CBS, PGA Tour, along with every match of UEFA Champions League and Serie A.

ViacomCBS grabbed the streaming rights for the AFC earlier this summer when it announced a multi-platform agreement to serve as the exclusive U.S. home of AFC soccer matches. ViacomCBS will air more than 300 club and national team matches live through 2024, including the AFC Asian Qualifiers – Road to Qatar Final Round in September, with the competition continuing in 2022. Paramount+ coverage also includes the remainder of the 2021 AFC Champions League from the Knockout Stage matches through the Final in November. The service will be the home of the AFC Men’s Champions League each season through 2024.
