One of the downsides of the timing of Peacock’s national launch is the fact that it will be coming out while the coronavirus is still at large. The NBCUniversal-owned streamer planned on launching with a slew of originals for users, however, because of the pandemic, it will be launching with nine.
Still, the streaming service is giving subscribers something to look forward to as they revealed today more originals will be rolling out later this summer. Peacock’s next four original titles to hit the service — “Hitmen,” “Five Bedrooms,” “Departure” and “A.P. Bio” — will premiere on the service in August and early September.

“Hitmen,” which hits the platform on Aug. 6, chronicles the friendship between killers Jamie (Mel Giedroyc) and Fran (Sue Perkins), as they navigate their quirky dynamic that naturally derails each job and often leads into bizarre misadventures.

Premiering on Aug. 13, “Five Bedrooms” follows five singles who meet after they are seated together at a wedding and decide to live together. Drama inevitably ensues as life-turning crises, moments of love, joy and heartbreak occur.

“A.P. Bio” premieres on Sept. 3 and follows disgraced Harvard philosophy scholar Jack Griffin (Glenn Howerton) as he has to start his life over as an Advanced Placement biology teacher after he loses out on his dream job.

“Departure” wraps up the pack with its Sep. 17 premiere. The show follows investigator Kendra Malley (Archie Panjabi), alongside her mentor Howard Lawson (Christopher Plummer), as they are brought in as the lead investigators after a passenger plane mysteriously vanishes.
At launch, Peacock will have nine original titles available to stream. For adults, the service will have “Brave New World,” “The Capture,” “Intelligence” and “Psych 2: Lassie Come Home”; for sports fans, “In Deep with Ryan Lochte” and “Lost Speedways” will be available, while “Where’s Waldo?” “Cleopatra in Space” and “Curious George,” will be available for kids.
