Peacock Launches First Original Sports Talk Show, Adds NBC Sports Channel on Peacock

Peacock has been on a roll with the addition of sports content and it looks like the service has no intentions to stop. Today, Peacock announced that longtime friends and journalists, Michael Holley and Michael Smith, will host the service’s first original sports talk show. Not only that, but the show will also be available on a new, free sports channel called NBC Sports on Peacock, which the service also announced today. The channel will debut on August 24.

“Peacock provides live topical sports conversations all day, every weekday, from the best and most experienced personalities in sports,” said Rick Cordella, EVP and chief revenue officer for Peacock. “We’re excited to launch the NBC Sports Channel on Peacock with this unique and exclusive content, who provide the fans the latest commentary and opinion on everything that is happening in the world of sport.”

The new original talk show, titled “Brother From Another,” will launch in September and livestream every weekday from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. ET. A specific launch date has yet to be announced. “Brother From Another” will also feature guests discussing the latest news across sports, culture, entertainment and politics.

“There’s certainly an appetite for honest, intelligent conversation while having some fun, and Michael and Michael have established reputations for delivering that kind of commentary,” said Cordella. “Peacock is always on, always topical, so we are proud to be the exclusive platform for their new show.”

“Brother From Another” is the latest addition to Peacock’s sports content offerings. Last week, the streamer announced that they will be the exclusive livestreaming home to “PFT Live With Mike Florio.” Beginning Aug. 24, the service will be the go-to location to catch Mike Florio and Chris Simms, along with regular guests Peter King and Rodney Harrison, as they update fans on the NFL each weekday. The show will stream from 7 to 9 a.m. ET.

Before then, Peacock also announced they will be the exclusive streaming home for “The Dan Patrick Show,” beginning Aug. 24 as well. Patrick is known for his top-tier interviews with sports stars, as well as breaking sports news and occasional commentary on pop-culture events.

The streaming service, along with NBC Sports, will also become the exclusive streaming home of “The Rich Eisen Show” beginning Oct. 5. Hosted by Rich Eisen himself, the eponymous show will return to NBCSN on Aug. 17. It’ll maintain its classic format, with all three hours of the show airing live on NBCSN from noon to 3 p.m. ET, Monday through Friday.
