Quibi Announces Animated Series from Andy Cohen, “The Andy Cohen Diaries”

Upcoming short-form streaming service, Quibi, continues to aggregate content for its platform. The company announced they will be partnering up with “Real Housewives” connoisseur Andy Cohen for an animated series chronicling his life. The series, titled “The Andy Cohen Diaries” is a follow up to his New York Times best sellers, “The Andy Cohen Diaries” and “Superficial: More Adventures from the Andy Cohen Diaries.” Both tracked three years in the whirlwind life of the producer, TV host and best-selling author, in his own cheeky, candid words.

The six-episode series will see Cohen altering his style of storytelling and visually guiding audiences through original animation instead. “I’m so excited to start writing more adventures in my diaries, and animated, short installments represent the perfect format to bring these to life,” said Cohen.

“The Andy Cohen Diaries” details the host’s most recent adventures, including irreverent celebrity encounters, behind the scenes of his shows, nights out on the town, and the trials and tribulations of first-time fatherhood. It’s executive produced by Andy Cohen through his company, Most Talkative Productions, along with ShadowMachine co-founders Corey Campodonico and Alex Bulkley (“BoJack Horseman,” “Final Space”).

Quibi, which launches on April 6, 2020, was founded by DreamWorks founder Jeffrey Katzenberg and former eBay CEO Meg Whitman. The streaming service has been gleaning content for their platform. They currently have content lined up with ESPN and CBS. They are also in content partnerships with Kris and Kendall Jenner, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Cara Delevingne, Zac Efron, Ridley Scott and many more.

The company said it plans to spend $1.1 billion on commissioning original content in its first year, totaling 7,000 short-form episodes. Quibi will charge about $5 a month with ads and $8 without ads.
