The action film “Extraction,” starring a super-toned Chris Hemsworth as a mercenary hired by a crime boss to rescue his kidnapped son, is a huge hit on Netflix.
In fact, the streamer shared via Twitter that “Extraction” reached 90 million households in its first four weeks.
Deadline first reported the news.
The action-adventure blockbuster debuted on April 24; it’s directed by Sam Hargrave, who was the fight and stunt coordinator for “Captain America: Civil War”). The script was written by Joe Russo, (Marvel’s “Avengers: Endgame” director) and his brother, Anthony. The two also produced the film, along with Hemsworth.
“Extraction” pits the wits of Tyler Rake, Hemsworth’s character, against the violent world of drug trafficking and global arms dealers.
Hemsworth posted his appreciation to fans on his Instagram account: “I just want to say a massive thank you to everyone that checked out ‘Extraction.’ You’ve made it the #1 film on the planet right now.”
