New Shows Streaming This Week (8/10/2020), Including ‘Ted Lasso,’ ‘Power Project’ and ‘Magic Camp’

The streaming options are as varied as the genres — from the premiere of “Ted Lasso,” a feel-good story about sports and change starring Jason Sudeikis (“Horrible Bosses,” “SNL”), to Stargirl’s fight for justice. High-school twins (Anjelica Bette Fellini, Maddie Phillips) find adventure in an unusual way — as “Teenage Bounty Hunters,” while the “(Un)Well” docuseries explores the truth behind the promises of the wellness industry.

Here’s a look at what’s premiering this week:

MONDAY, AUG. 10

  • “About Face” A Quibi series premiere in which Rosie Huntington-Whiteley explores the art of beauty with beautiful women.

  • “Game On: A Comedy Crossover Event” A spirited competition of cameos and stories from four different comedy series on Netflix.

  • “Mapleworth Murders” — The Quibi comedy whodunnit features an impressive lineup of guest suspects and victims.

  • “Stargirl” — Courtney Whitmore fights evil as a member of the Justice Society and Justice League. Season 1 finale, Part 2 of 2 (DC Universe)

  • “Infinity Train” In Book 3, Grace and Simon, leaders of the Apex, an anarchic group of kids on a mysterious train, get separated and must find their way back. (HBO Max)

FRIDAY, AUG. 14

  • “3%” ** It’s the Netflix season 4 premiere of class warfare. In the future, only 3% of the elite can live in a paradise far from slums, and you have to fight to be counted.

  • “Boys State” — The documentary premiere (Apple TV+) chronicles a grand social experiment — a thousand teenage boys attending Boys/Girls State in Texas build a representative government from scratch.

  • “Magic Camp” —Andy Tuckerman (Adam DeVine) needs to reignite his career, so he returns to the camp of his boyhood — and discovers inspiration in the kids. The film premieres on Disney+.

  • “Ted Lasso” — The three-episode premiere on Apple TV+ of a new original comedy series stars Jason Sudeikis as a clueless soccer coach in England.

  • “Teenage Bounty Hunters” — High-school twins (Anjelica Bette Fellini, Maddie Phillips) want action — so they team up with a butt-kicking bounty hunter. The series premieres on Netflix.

  • “World’s Toughest Race: Eco-Challenge Fiji” — Some 65 teams compete in a global adventure, traveling by foot, kayak, horse and mountain bike in the 300-mile endurance trek. It’s the series premiere on Amazon Prime Video.
