Report: Netflix Shuts Down LA Office Building Because of Suspected Coronavirus Case
Netflix is the latest on the list of companies to shut down amid the coronavirus outbreak. According to Variety sources, the streaming giant closed one of its Los Angeles offices “after an employee was believed to have contracted coronavirus.” All employees of that building were advised to leave and start working from home while the building is undergoing heavy cleaning.
The news comes as The Hollywood Reporter also reports that Apple TV+ has shut down production on their hit original “The Morning Show.” Though no one on the team has been diagnosed with the virus, the series will be taking a two-week hiatus as a precautionary measure.
“In concert with our dedicated partners at Apple, we have concluded it would be prudent to take a two-week hiatus to assess the situation and ensure the safety of the incredible people who make this show,” said producer Michael Ellenberg, founder and CEO of MediaRes.
On Wednesday, Deadline reported that the premiere screening of Hulu’s “Little Fires Everywhere,” headlined by Reese Witherspoon and Kerry Washington, was pulled citing coronavirus concerns. The series is still slated to air on Hulu on March 18.
Deadline's list of streaming shows that have halted production include “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier,” “The Good Fight,” “Grace and Frankie,” “Carnival Row” and “Angelyne.”
