Stellan Skarsgard and Kyle Soller have been added to the roster for the “Rogue One” Disney+ spinoff. According to Variety, both actors are currently in final negotiations for their roles.

Earlier this year, Luna finally confirmed the untitled spinoff would in fact be taking place after months of speculation.

“Yes, we are doing it. We are doing it this year. It’s happening, and I’m getting ready for it,” he told Entertainment Tonight. “It is a different approach because of the beauty and it’s how things happen. It’s not just what happens. It’s not the typical way of approaching a story. It’s about how things happen, which in fact, is the same that happened in ‘Rogue One.’ You know the ending, but you don’t know how it happened, and we have that challenge in front of us again, which is exciting.”

The show is expected to focus on Rebel agent Cassian Andor prior to the events of “Rogue One” in the early days of the Rebellion against the Empire. Luna is set to reprise his role as Cassian, while Alan Tudyk voices droid K-2SO.

“Rogue One” co-writer, Tony Gilroy was on deck to write the pilot episode and direct some episodes as well, while Stephen Schiff was to serve as showrunner. The show was set to premiere in 2021, but may be pushed back since COVID-19 has prompted productions to shut down.

The “Rogue One” spinoff will be one of a few “Star Wars projects on Disney+. In February, the streamer announced that “The Mandalorian” will come back for a second season, after the first one debuted to stellar numbers. In addition, Ewan McGregor confirmed filming for the untitled Obi-Wan Kenobi series, which is slated to start filming in 2021.
