The Bob Ross Channel Now Available on Samsung Connected TVs
The Bob Ross Channel is bringing a little bit more joy to homes all over the country. According to Variety, The Bob Ross Channel is now officially available on Samsung connected TVs and will be available on more platforms next month. The channel will come with over 380 episodes of the late landscape painter’s iconic show “The Joy of Painting.”
Ross hosted 31 seasons of the beloved show before his death in 1995. Each episode — a half-hour painting tutorial of varying landscapes — aired on PBS stations from 1983 to 1994.
The Bob Ross Channel is operated by Cinedigm, an entertainment company that secured exclusive rights for the art channel with Bob Ross Inc., the company that manages the late painter’s intellectual property, Variety reported. The ad-supported channel will stream episodes of “The Joy of Painting” in a linear, TV-like fashion.
The Bob Ross Channel is slated to launch on Roku on May 18 and will be available on other linear, ad-supported VOD and subscription-video platforms in the coming months, Cindedigm stated.
Though he passed away 25 years ago, Ross still maintains a strong fan base, with his YouTube channel garnering over 330 million views to date while his social media boasts over 5.5 million followers.
