This is What We Know About DIRECTV NOW’s Streaming Box Code-Named Osprey

Last night on Reddit, a Turner Broadcasting employee (owned by AT&T) leaked information on an upcoming streaming device that may be targeted at DIRECTV NOW customers. The device is internally called Osprey and is currently being alpha tested by AT&T employees.

Information about Osprey and it’s remote control leaked earlier this year as it was going through FCC approval.

What are the Technical Specs of DIRECTV NOW Osprey?

The streaming device is based on the Android TV platform and supports 4K HDR10. It has Ethernet, HDMI, Digital Audio, and USB ports and supports 802.11ac wireless protocol.

What Remote Control is included with DIRECTV NOW Osprey?

The device also comes with a slick looking remote control which supports voice control. It looks to be a Universal Remote so you can control your Home Theater set-up as well as your streaming services.

What is the Pricing & Availability of DIRECTV NOW Osprey?

What we don’t know is when this device will be released and its pricing. They may start giving the device away as a promotional offer or allow subscribers to rent it as part of their DIRECTV NOW subscription.
