For those who can’t get access to NVIDIA Shield TVs, the Xiaomi Mi Box S has served as a great alternative. Launched in 2018, the Mi Box S device has been running on Android Oreo until it was updated to Android Pie beta late last year — with Pie beta 3 launching in December. As of today, the Mi Box S is now receiving the Android Pie update as an OTA, Piunika Web reports.
The new update comes in at “624.3MB, the same size as the previous Pie beta 3 update,” Piunika Web stated, and is available to users who were still operating under Android Oreo as well. The Mi Box S’s new update also comes with a newer Android security patch level dated Nov. 5.
Last July, the NVIDIA Shield also got an Android P (9.0) update after weeks of speculation.
