Though Aaron Fisher’s “Inside the Rain” didn’t get the theater run it deserves, the critically acclaimed film is making its way to people’s homes via Tubi. The ad-supported free streaming service announced that “Inside the Rain” will be available for users beginning this month.
The film debuted with an exclusive engagement in New York on March 13th, where it garnered a great reception. “Inside the Rain” grossed the highest per theater average in the US for the weekend, Tubi announced, and was slated to show in theaters in the top 40 US markets, including AMC Theatres and Regal. Those plans were derailed due to the coronavirus pandemic, however.
The film follows a bipolar college student, Ben Glass (Aaron Fisher) who is expelled from school due to a misunderstanding. In an effort to prove his innocence, Glass enlists the help of a moonlighting call girl, Emma Taylor (Ellen Toland) and they attempt to recreate the events leading to the misunderstanding. The film also stars Rosie Perez, Eric Roberts, Catherine Curtin and Paul Schulze.
“We have been so touched by the outpouring of people waiting to see the film. What is important to us is that these audiences who have been so eager to watch the film are able to do so free of charge on Tubi,” stated Fisher, who also wrote and directed the film.
Just last week, Tubi announced they will begin streaming the first and second seasons of “The Masked Singer,” the hit Fox show. Season three will be available in the coming weeks, after its broadcast airing.
Tubi is available on Android and iOS mobile devices, Amazon Echo Show, Google Nest Hub Max, Comcast Xfinity X1, Cox Contour, and on OTT devices, such as Amazon Fire TV, Vizio TVs, Sony TVs, Samsung TVs, Roku, Apple TV, Chromecast, Android TV, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
