CBS All Access Drops Trailer for ‘Twilight Zone’ Season 2, Cancels ‘Tell Me a Story’

The trailer for the second season of “The Twilight Zone” is out. All 10 episodes of the anthology series will air June 25, per CBS All Access.

Executive producers Jordan Peele (“Fargo,” “Get Out”) and Simon Kinberg (“X-Men: The Last Stand,” “Sherlock Holmes”) have re-imagined Rod Serling’s iconic series for the 21st century.

The second season will include Morena Baccarin, Kylie Bunbury, Ethan Embry, Sky Ferreira, Tavi Gevinson, Topher Grace, Tony Hale, Gillian Jacobs, David Krumholtz, Thomas Lennon, Sophia Macy, Natalie Martinez, Joel McHale, Chris Meloni, Gretchen Mol, Paula Newsome, Jimmi Simpson, Jurnee Smollett, Daniel Sunjata and Damon Wayans Jr.

Rod Serling’s original “Twilight Zone” debuted in 1959. He utilized the sci-fi, horror and suspense genres to tell important stories about key political and social issues, such as racism and war.

Peele, who hosts the current series, has continued the legacy of producing shows that explore ethics and morality.

The streamer also announced its fairy-tale inspired anthology series “Tell Me a Story” will not be renewed for a third season. The subversive show, created by Kevin Williamson, revamps the original source material into present-day stories of love, greed and murder.

The first two seasons will continue to air on the streamer — they will also now air on The CW.

Julie McNamara, EVP and head of programming for CBS All Access, praised Williamson for turning the familiar tales into modern thrillers. She said it was a privilege to work with “such an elite and talented group of creative minds like Kevin, Aaron Kaplan and the team at Kapital Entertainment, as well as the amazing cast of ‘Tell Me a Story,’ who did a “phenomenal job.”

The first season borrowed from “The Three Little Pigs,” “Little Red Riding Hood” and “Hansel and Gretel,” while the second tapped “Sleeping Beauty,” “Beauty and the Beast” and “Cinderella.”
