Disney+ has slated its National Geographic “Magic of Disney’s Animal Kingdom” series for September 25.
The eight-episode docuseries is a tribute to the Animal Kingdom Theme Park, Animal Kingdom Lodge and The Seas with Nemo & Friends at EPCOT.
Narrated by Josh Gad (“The Book of Mormon,” “Frozen”), the series explores the animals in the park and uncovers their distinct personalities and family dynamics.
The Animal Kingdom Theme Park is home to 5,000 animals and more than 300 species.
The show will journey to the Gorilla Falls Exploration Trail, the Harambe Wildlife Reserve, which houses giraffes and black rhinos, Kilimanjaro Safaris, home to hyenas and African lions, and Discovery Island, home to endangered vultures.
In addition, viewers get an inside look at Tiger Temple, which protects endangered Sumatran tigers, and The Seas with Nemo & Friends at EPCOT, home to 3,000 ocean animals, including a wild sea turtle and a pregnant spotted eagle ray.
“Each episode, we get to know these animals intimately and are immersed in the magic of Disney. It’s been a joy giving voice to this ultimate adventure,” said Gad.
“Viewers will get an unparalleled, all-new experience as they meet some of the most intriguing animals in our care,” adds Dr. Mark Penning, vice president, Disney’s animals, science and environment, Disney Parks.
