ESPN+ Streaming Service to Launch April 12

ESPN announced today that their ESPN+ streaming service will launch on April 12 for $4.99/month.

While details are sparse on the exact games that will be included in the service, it has been reported that it will include more than 180 different Major League Baseball and NHL games, as well as MLS, Rugby, and Cricket matches.

Additionally, they are the exclusive local-market partner to the Chicago Fire.

The ESPN+ service will launch as an add-on to the ESPN App, so no new mobile application will need to be installed.

While this ESPN’s first foray in an OTT service, the linear family of networks including ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, ESPNews are all already available on 5 of the 7 major live streaming services.
