The 93rd annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade once again takes place on Thursday in New York. The yearly spectacle travels from West 77th Street to West 59th Street, then goes east to Sixth Avenue and finally heads south along Sixth Avenue to 34th Street and Herald Square.

This year’s parade will be star-studded with performances and appearances from celebrities such as Billy Porter, Idina Menzel, Lea Michele, Kelly Rowland, Ashanti, Celine Dion, Black Eyed Peas, TLC, Chicago, Ciara, Josh Dela Cruz, Jimmy Fallon and The Roots and the cast and Muppets of “Sesame Street.”
The parade will also feature 26 floats, 1,200 cheerleaders and dancers and 11 marching bands.
The 16 giant character balloons, of course, are the real stars of the parade, but will the weather cooperate? The “Today” show's website reported that a “forecast of high winds and strong gusts of wind for Thursday could put the famous giant balloons of various characters on the sidelines.” NYPD officials will determine whether the giant balloons are safe to fly on Thursday morning, the New York Daily News reported.
The parade will begin at 9 a.m. ET.
