‘The Big Fib’ Begins Streaming on Disney Plus Today, Kid Contestants Try to Catch Liars
Adults can’t always tell the difference between truth and lies. But Disney+ is hoping kids can.
“The Big Fib,” which kicks off today, has an interesting premise: Two adults claim to be topic experts, but only one is telling the truth. Topics range from space to sports to animation.
The kid contestants get to ask the experts questions, then they announce the liar. The show also includes tricky fibs, fun facts and a goofy robot.
Based on the Gen-Z Media podcast “Pants on Fire,” the streamer has ordered 30 episodes of the half-hour “The Big Fib.” Yvette Nicole Brown, best known as part of NBC’s “Community” cast, and Rhys Darby, (“Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle”) as her sidekick, handle host duties.
And, happily for the kids, if they guess correctly, the liar gets covered in Fib Foam. (It’s reminiscent of celebrities getting green slimed by Nickelodeon at the Kids’ Choice Awards.)
“The best thing actually about the show is that the kids are in control,” Brown told told TV Guide. “From the time the show begins, I’m there as like the cruise director, so to speak, but the babies are the ones that ask questions. They are in control of how the game plays.”
“So I thought it would be a fun little romp for kids to ask their questions … The whole time, I was just amazed by what I was learning by their insightful questions.”
