Altitude is Still Blacked Out on DirecTV, Dish, & Comcast, But They’ll Air The Nuggets Home Opener Over-The-Air
Even though Altitude, the Regional Sports Network for the Denver Nuggets and Colorado Avalanche, is still blacked out on DirecTV, Dish, and Comcast — there is at least a temporary solution for Nuggets fans. While their season opener on Wednesday will air on ESPN, Altitude has made a deal with MyNetworkTV affiliate KTVD to stream their home opener on Friday against the Portland Trail Blazers.
While this doesn’t necessarily help streamers, since KTVD isn’t available across any Live TV Streaming Service, you will be able to get the channel with an antenna.

“We are outraged that our fans aren’t able to enjoy their hometown teams in action,” said Kroenke Sports & Entertainment EVP/COO Matt Hutchings. “We’re committed to doing everything we can to reach an agreement with Comcast, DIRECTV and DISH Network. In the interim, we have purchased air time on Channel 20 to broadcast the Denver Nuggets home opener on Friday. We’re excited to be able to provide this to our fans as they join in us in celebrating Mile High Basketball.”
By not being available as part of a streaming bundle, has put Altitude is a bind. Unlike during other channel disputes, like the current Fox Sports RSN / Sling & Dish dispute, the channel has no place to direct customers to watch the games. While it’s currently only affecting Colorado Rapids fans, with NBA and NHL season coming up, virtually no one will be able to watch Avalanche and Nuggets games unless they’re out-of-market.
When asked by fans why the channel isn’t available to stream, Altitude President, Matt Hutchings, says a “model does not exist that can support a streaming/direct to consumer option.” While it may not be feasible to sell the channel directly, it’s odd that they haven’t brought the channel to Live TV Streaming Services.
