The teaser trailer for season two of Amazon Prime Video’s “The Boys” was released today.
The show returns September 4 with the first three episodes. A new episode will stream each Friday until the finale on October 9.
The series is based on the comic book by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson. Eric Kripke (“Supernatural”) developed the show for the streamer. “The Boys” examines what happens when celebrity superheroes abuse their powers.
But The Boys also want to expose the truth about the Seven and Vought, the multibillion-dollar conglomerate that hides their dirty deeds.
In the upcoming season, The Boys are hunted by the Supes and fighting against Vought. The Supes are also jockeying for power within their group, including with a new Supe, the neo-Nazi Stormfront.
Separately, Amazon Prime Video is now letting subscribers create user profiles. Users are allowed up to six profiles per account. Each profile can list its own recommendations and watch history.
Plus, Amazon Fire TV wants to enhance the live TV experience by better integrating Hulu Live TV, Sling TV and YouTube TV. Live content from the three providers will be directly integrated into Fire TV’s live TV discovery features: Live Tab, On Now Rows and multi-app Channel Guide, which includes Alexa.
