The final episode of “Homeland” brings Carrie Mathison (played by Claire Danes) and Saul Berenson’s (played by Mandy Patinkin) relationship to a head when the former has to decide whether or not to kill her longtime mentor in order to prevent a new war in the Middle East. Between her battle with bipolar and her formidable pursuit of justice, there is no telling how Mathison will close the chapter.
“Homeland” was developed for American television by Alex Gansa and Howard Gordon, Forbes notes. The show is based on an Israeli series titled “Prisoners of War” by Gideon Raff.
The series remains Showtime’s top drama averaging five million viewers across several platforms tuning in per episode.
