His opponent is Nigerian-born, Israel Adesanya, who is the Interim lightweight champion and undefeated fighter at 17-0.
This will be Whittaker’s first fight since June 2018. Adesanya has fought 6 times in the last 14 months. His last win was at UFC 236 against Kelvin Gastelum. Whittaker hasn’t lost since moving up to Middleweight and is riding a 9 fight win streak since 2014.
