The Roku Channel is on a roll. It has added three new channels — Love Nature, Love Nature Español and ZooMoo — from Canada’s Blue Ant Media. They join the 40 channels added earlier this month.
The new programs will include “Animal Empires” and “Land of Gremlins” on Love Nature and preschool shows like “Kookie’s Crafty Show” for ZooMoo.
The additional inventory means Roku users can now stream 100-plus live channels, kids shows to Spanish-language, news to sports. For example, Reuters recently launched its news channel on Roku, featuring packaged video segments, in one- to two-minute clips, on the top news of the day.
The Roku Channel has an estimated 36 million users.
The service is also launching a new LiveTV Channel Guide to enhance on-screen navigation for free content. Users can press left on their remote at any time to bring up the guide.
Ward Platt, CEO of kids and global networks at Blue Ant Media, called the partnership “an important step in our AVOD expansion in the U.S. market because it allows us to introduce our suite of premium brands to one of the largest and most engaged streaming audiences in the world.”
