Twitter Killing Xbox, Roku, and Android TV Apps

Twitter announced today that they will no longer be offering their Xbox, Roku, and Android TV apps. You will still be able to use their apps on Apple TV and Fire TV.

This comes as a surprise as the company has continued their push in live and on demand video content. Just last month, they announced 30 new or renewed video pacts, including those with ESPN and NBC/Universal.

The company cited the removal of the apps as necessary to comply with the upcoming European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
