Stephanie Sengwe

Amazon’s free, ad-supported service, IMDb TV announced today that its premiering its first ever scripted series titled, You’re Not A Monster, this fall. The animated show aims to demonstrate that even classic movie monsters have emotional issues – because the only thing worse than being undead is being unloved

The 10-episode, short-form series will see Kelsey Grammer returning to the therapist’s chair since his days on Frasier, as he voices a former psychiatrist-turned-vampire, who mentors his great-great grandson Max (played by Eric Stonestreet ), a therapist who has inherited his practice. In each of the 4 to 5 minute episodes, Max treats classic monsters such as Frankenstein, The Invisible Man and Medusa.

“We are thrilled to offer a new original comedy series to our fans as we shine a light on the daily struggles faced by classic movie monsters,” said Steve Bernstein, GM of IMDb Video. “You’re Not a Monster is not only the first-ever animated series for IMDb, but also our first scripted program, and introducing the show on the IMDboat at San Diego Comic-Con (July 20) is the perfect place to share its fun narrative alongside members of the incredible cast.”

IMDb TV was first launched in January with the name IMDb Freedrive. In June the service was renamed to IMDb TV and saw an increase in content—with films and series from Warner Bros., Sony Pictures, and MGM added to the platform.

IMDb TV is available on the IMDb website, or as part of the Prime Video app on Roku, Apple TV, iOS, and Android. You can also access IMDb TV from the Your Apps & Channels row on Amazon Fire TV devices.
