Amazon Schedules New Jim Gaffigan Stand-Up Special for July, Releases ‘7500’ Trailer
Amazon is streaming “Jim Gaffigan: The Pale Tourist” on July 24. It is the comedian’s second stand-up special with the streamer. The show was shot in Ontario and Barcelona, as part of Gaffigan’s world tour.
His twist: He introduces himself to local foods and culture, then incorporates the material into his act, updating material depending on city or country. The comedian performed in numerous locales, including Moscow, Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Seoul and Mexico City.
Most recently, Gaffigan co-starred with Allison Janney and Viola Davis in Amazon Studios’ “Troop Zero.” His earlier 2019 stand-up for the streamer was titled “Quality Time.”
Amazon also announced today it is partnering up with James May, a co-host of the British show “The Grand Tour,” to star in a six-episode culinary series. The streamer was already in production with “James May: Our Man in Japan” when the pandemic shut down production.
Finally, Amazon has released the trailer for an original movie thriller “7500,” about terrorists commandeering a flight, with Joseph Gordon-Levitt as one of the wounded pilots trying to negotiate an emergency landing. That is, until the hijackers threaten to kill passengers unless he lets them in the cockpit.
The “7500” movie will be released June 19.
