Antennas Direct Acquires Mohu to Become the Largest US Company in the OTA Arena
Antennas Direct announced today that they acquired Mohu, a consumer electronics manufacturer, to become the largest antenna U.S. company in the OTA space. The partnership will allow Antennas Direct to market Mohu’s indoor antennas along with their own ClearStream line of antennas, giving consumers more options.
“Mohu was launched with one central goal: to spread awareness of the choice that antennas give consumers and make cord cutting accessible to all,” said Mark Buff, founder and CEO of Mohu. “Antennas Direct will enhance the Mohu brand with the innovation, leadership and expertise that they are known for. We are excited that loyal Mohu users will continue to have support and access to our legacy products and now have access to even more products for their cord-cutting lifestyle.”
“Antennas Direct and Mohu have long been on the side of consumers’ efforts to get rid of cable,” said Richard Schneider, CEO and founder of Antennas Direct. “We look forward to welcoming even more liberated Americans to our cord-cutting family, continuing our legacy of putting billions of dollars back in their pockets.”
Mohu was founded in 2011 and is well known in the OTA space for its original Mohu Leaf product — a sleek, paper-thin and easy to install antenna. The company also launched the Sail and Striker, which offer a larger range, as well as the ReLeaf made from recycled materials, among other products.
Antennas Direct’s products include the recently launched ultra-thin, multidirectional ClearStream ECLIPSE 2 indoor antenna as well as the ClearStream MAX-V antenna, which delivers Hi-VHF stations and UHF reception.
