Disney Revamps Deal With Verizon, Offering Disney Plus, Hulu, ESPN Plus Bundle Free

After reaching 100 million streaming subscriptions, Disney is working hard to ensure customer retention on their streaming services.

Today, the company announced they have revamped their distribution deal with Verizon so that users on select Mix and Match Unlimited wireless plans, get Disney+, Hulu (with ads), and ESPN+ at no extra charge, beginning Aug. 20. The offer is slated to expire on Feb. 28, 2021.

“The addition of The Disney Bundle to our agreement with Verizon reinforces our commitment to providing their subscribers with access to high-quality entertainment from Disney+, Hulu and ESPN+,” said Sean Breen, EVP, platform distribution, The Walt Disney Company. “We are always looking for the most advantageous ways for consumers to experience our content and we are pleased to work with Verizon so that they can provide their customers with these appealing new offers.”

Verizon has five Mix & Match plans and four of those are running the offer: the Start Unlimited Plan ($35) and the Do More Unlimited Plan ($45) both offer Disney+ free for six months, while the Play More Unlimited ($45), and Get More Unlimited ($55) are offering the entire Disney Bundle. All plans also come with Apple Music included for either six months, or unlimited.

The new deal ends the initial offer the two companies made back in November, which gave Disney+ free for all unlimited wireless customers. Customers under that initial offer have the option to can move to to the new Play More and Get More Unlimited plans with The Disney Bundle included, or for $6 per month they can stay in their current plan and add both ESPN+ and Hulu to complete The Disney Bundle.

Bundling streaming with your wireless plan has become the new normal for carriers.

In 2017, T-Mobile started including Netflix with their T-Mobile One plans, while they added Quibi for free (for a year) earlier this year, in addition to MLB.TV which they include annually.

Prior to their merger with T-Mobile, Sprint included Hulu bundled with their plans.

AT&T includes HBO Max at no additional cost on select wireless plans – and have previously bundled their Live TV skinny bundle, AT&T WatchTV.
