Thursday is a big day for soccer fans as La Liga finally returns after being shut down due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Spanish soccer league comes back with all eyes still on Barcelona and Real Madrid to see which of the teams takes it all. Games begin with Sevilla going against Real Betis at 4 p.m. ET.

While fans are looking forward to seeing Barcelona go against Real Madrid for this year’s title, the two teams must first play others in the league. To mark La Liga’s long-awaited return is Sevilla vs. Real Betis. The match gives Betis an opportunity to redeem themselves after having lost 2-1 during their first meeting. Sevilla comes in with a bit of an advantage as they are third in the league and have been led by Lucas Ocampos who currently has 10 goals in 22 matches and will be looking to add more.
Both Barcelona and Real Madrid don’t play until Saturday when they go against Mallorca and Eibar respectively. Barca goes into their match with full confidence, having cleaned Mallorca 5-2 during their last match back in December. The match takes place at 4 p.m. ET on Saturday.
Real Madrid’s record prior to the COVID-19 lockdowns makes the match against Eibar a bit harder to predict. The team won only one of their last four games prior to the shutdown. However, they lost one of their first 24 matches and beat Eibar 4-0 when they last played. The match takes place at 1:30 p.m. ET on Saturday.
