The doc explores how directors, artists and actors, such as Josh Gad and Kristen Bell, joined forces at Walt Disney Animation Studios to transform “Frozen 2” into a work of art.

Australian filmmaker-director Megan Harding charts the intricate creative process — paying special attention to directors Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee, both personally and professionally. The doc begins a year before the movie’s premiere, in November 2019.

The pair, veterans of “Frozen” as well, now oversee the vast “Frozen” empire — films TV shows, Broadway musicals, etc.

“Into the Unknown” also notes the challenges for voice actors, such as Bell and Gad, and the demands on songwriters Bobby and Kristen Anderson-Lopez. The doc chronicles the intensity and commitment that drive creative endeavors.

So focused is cast and crew on excellence that the first three episodes detail solving the problem behind “Show Yourself,” the big, third-act musical number sung by Elsa (Idina Menzel). Even thought the rest of the movie is falling into place, a musical misstep can stop production.

All six episodes will be released at once.
