‘New to Disney+’ Category Added to the Streamer’s Homepage

Disney+ continues to make their platform more convenient for users as the streamer just added a “New to Disney+” category onto the homepage. The section displays all new content that has recently been made available on the platform. Currently, the section houses “Star Wars: The Clone Wars,” “Shop Class” and “Diary of a Future President,” among other shows.

During its Q1 2020 earnings call earlier this month, Disney announced that the widely popular streaming service has amassed 28.6 million subscribers since launching in November. Twenty percent of those came as a result of their partnership with Verizon, while 50 percent came directly from the Disney+ website, with the rest coming through partnerships with companies like Apple and Roku.

The streamer also announced Monday it will debut on March 24 in seven European countries.

Disney+ launched on Nov. 12, and immediately became a hit. The streaming service was downloaded 3.2 million times to mobile devices and garnered 1.3 million hours of viewership in its first 24 hours, according to Apptopia. Despite initial hiccups, the streaming service reached 10 million subscribers merely 24-hours post launch.

The streaming service has a deep catalog including the entire Disney Vault, Pixar and Star Wars libraries, MCU films like “Captain Marvel” and the entire 30 seasons of “The Simpsons.”
