How to Watch the 2020 Democratic National Convention Live Online For Free Without Cable

Like many events taking place this year, the Democratic National Convention will be unlike the ones from years prior. The event, which begins today and goes through Thursday, Aug. 20, will take place almost entirely virtually, with speakers making appearances from different states.

The event will be available on a host of platforms including C-SPAN, CNN, MSNBC and PBS which have the full, two-hour coverage each night, beginning at 9 p.m. ET, while ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox News will broadcast the last hour, beginning at 10 p.m. ET

The DNC was originally planned to take place entirely in Milwaukee, but due to the pandemic, speakers will be taking stages in New York and Los Angeles as well. Democratic nominee and former vice president Joe Biden will speak from his home of Wilmington, Delaware along with running mate, Senator Kamala Harris.

Opening night is sure to be one to watch as top speakers include former first lady Michelle Obama and Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders. Senator Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota, Governor Andrew Cuomo of New York, and convention chairman Bennie Thompson are also on schedule to speak, among a host of others. Speeches are expected to be lauded with messages of hope and earnestness as the country is currently in the middle of a global pandemic and racial tensions have once again, reached a boiling point.

Later on in the week, Attorney General Sally Yates, Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, former President Bill Clinton, Senator Elizabeth Warren, Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, former President Barack Obama, Senator Cory Booker, Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms and Andrew Yang are among speakers on the program.
