Netflix to Stream Korean Series ‘Record of Youth’ Later in 2020

Netflix is slated to stream the Korean drama “Record of Youth” later this year.

It stars Park Bo-gum, Park So-dam and Byeon Woo-seok. “Record of Youth” is produced by Studio Dragon, Korea’s largest scripted television studio, and Pan Entertainment (“Winter Sonata, The Moon Embracing the Sun”).

The series will premiere exclusively on Netflix outside Korea.

“Record of Youth” is directed by An Gil-ho (“Stranger,” “WATCHER”) and written by Ha Myeong-hee, who is known for feel-good stories in modern settings, such as “Doctors” and “Temperature of Love.”

The upcoming drama focuses on Sa Hye-Jun (Bo-Gum), who wants to be a model/actor but tempers that ambition with the realities of daily life. He’s got an upbeat and pleasant personality. So-dam plays a smart, aspiring makeup artist who follows her own path. Woo-seok is Sa Hye-jun’s privileged best friend, friendly but competitive.

It brokered a deal with Studio Dragon last fall. This year, Studio Dragon will produce more than 28 scripted television series. Some of its hits include “Guardian: The Lonely and Great God” and “The Legend of the Blue Sea.”

Netflix streams in more than 190 countries.
