Xiaomi Officially Announces Mi TV Stick Android TV Device

The worst kept secret is now official — Xiaomi has now officially announced their Mi TV Stick. The device, which is similar in form factor to the Fire TV Stick 4K and Roku Streaming Stick, brings with it Android TV 9.0. The device has a quad-core CPU, along with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of storage.

The device will also have built-in Chromecast, Google Assistant, and support Dolby+DTS premium audio. The Mi TV Stick will be also ultra portable, with only a microUSB power adapter, and takes only three steps to set up.

The bluetooth remote has quick launch buttons for Google Assistant, Netflix, and Amazon Prime Video, along with a volume rocker (plus, mute button) and a power button.

The device will also allow you to access pre-installed streaming services such as Netflix and Amazon Prime Video and gives users access to the Google Play Store for more apps.

But the best part is the price. It will be sold for €39.99, which likely means it will be ~$50 in the U.S. While it doesn’t support 4K, like the Xiaomi Mi Box S, it does seem like a worthy option for those looking to get into the Android TV ecosystem.
