Chip & Joanna Gaines Will Replace DIY Network with Magnolia, Coming in Summer 2020

Last November, Discovery announced that the husband and wife pair from Fixer Upper, Chip and Joanna Gaines, announced that they would be partnering with Discovery to launch a new network. The channel, likely called the Magnolia Network, will join the Discovery family of networks which already owns HGTV, where the couple got their start.

Today, Discovery announced that the channel will be replacing the DIY Network in the Summer of 2020. The channel will include content on home, garden, food, wellness and design — and a new series from the Fixer Upper pair. At the same time, the couple will launch a new SVOD service, which will include original content and the entire library of Fixer Upper episodes. The service is expected to be available both as a subscription or with your TV Everywhere credentials.

While a lot can change by the time the channel launches, DIY Network, the channel it’s replacing is available on Philo and PlayStation Vue, or as an add-on to Fubo, Sling TV or Hulu Live TV.
