D23 Members Can Get $23 Off Disney+ With a 3-Year Commitment, And a Special Pin If You Sign-Up at D23 Expo

Jason Gurwin

Disney announced an incredible deal this morning for their D23 members that will drop the price of Disney+ to just $47 a year (normally $70). The special Founders Circle deal will give subscribers 33% off ($23) per year, with a three-year commitment. Those who sign-up at the D23 Expo, which started will all receive a special “Founders Circle” pin.

The promotion will start during the Expo on August 22nd and extend online to Sept 2nd for D23 Gold members, who aren’t attending the expo.

This is the second promotion that Disney has launched around Disney+, but the first that is not bundled with their other services. In Early August, Disney announced that subscribers could get Disney+ ($6.99), Hulu ($5.99) (ad-supported plan), and ESPN+ ($4.99) — is $5 less than if subscribed to separately. With the new bundle, you can get the three services for less than Netflix.

Disney+ will launch their streaming service on November 12th at just $6.99 a month, nearly half the price of Netflix ($12.99). Starting with the 2019 theatrical slate, all Disney/Pixar/Marvel/Star Wars films will become exclusive to Disney+ meaning movies like the live-action versions of Aladdin, The Lion King, Captain Marvel, and Avengers: Endgame will only be available to stream on Disney+.

The company also announced an original slate including a 10-episode Star Wars series from Jon Favreau which will be available at launch in November. The first year will include 25 new original series, 10+ movies, 7,500 past episodes, 100 recent movies, and 400 library titles including the entire Disney Vault. Previously, many of those new releases and library films would have gone to Netflix as part of a distribution deal that started in 2016.
