Today, at Warner Media Day, the company has revealed that the streaming service will be launching in May 2020 for $14.99 a month — the same price as HBO NOW. AT&T customers with HBO will get HBO Max at no additional cost.
HBO Max will include 10,000 hours of programming at launch including the entire HBO service and library, a large offering of new original content, and a slate of acquired & library programming (Friends, Big Bang Theory, Sesame Street).
At the event, they announced the service will have the full libraries of Friends, The Big Bang Theory, South Park, Rick and Morty, The West Wing, Sesame Street, and DC Comics films. The service will also have 50 Max Originals by 2021 including originals from Katey Cuoco and Anna Kendrick — HBO Max will finally share all.
The HBO Max App on mobile and connected TVs will offer user profiles, offline downloads, content collections, human-curated recommendations, and kids mode for the entire family. You can see a full first look of the app here.
