Here Are the Studio Ghibli Titles Streaming on HBO Max, Including ‘Spirited Away’ and ‘Howl’s Moving Castle’
HBO Max will debut on May 27 with 21 Japanese animated titles from the heralded Studio Ghibli. Founded in 1984 by directors Hayao Miyazaki and Isao Takahata and producer Toshio Suzuki, its library is acclaimed by critics and beloved by fans. Miyazaki even won an honorary Oscar in 2015.
Although Netflix has carried Studio Ghibli’s movies outside the U.S., the collection’s premiere on HBO Max today marks its American debut.
