The 13th edition of the biennial Presidents Cup starts today, Wednesday December 11th and will go on through December 14th at Royal Melbourne Golf Club in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. Unlike the Ryder Cup, The President Cup pits the United States against at team of International golfers from outside of Europe.

Presidents Cup 2019 Format

While all four rounds will air in their entirety on the Golf Channel, the format of the event will change by day. The first round of the tournament starts on December 11th at 5:30pm with four-ball, switching to foursomes for Round 2 on December 12th at 7pm. On December 13th for Round 3, it will be a mix of foursomes and four-ball, followed by a Final Round of singles on December 14th at 6pm with every player in the field.

  • Round 1 (Fourball): Wednesday, December 12th at 5:30pm ET
  • Round 2 (Foursomes): Thursday, December 13th at 7pm ET
  • Round 3 (Fourball & Foursomes): Friday, December 14th at 3pm ET
  • Round 4 (Singles): Saturday, December 15th at 6pm ET

Presidents Cup 2019 Teams

The United States Team enters this year’s competition as the defending champions. With Tiger Woods as playing captain, this year’s team will include Dustin Johnson, Justin Thomas, Rickie Fowler, Matt Kuchar, Xander Schauffele, Webb Simpson, Patrick Cantlay, Bryson DeChambeau, and Woods’ four captains picks which include Tony Finau, Patrick Reed, Gary Woodland.

Rounding out the International Team are Hideki Matsuyama, Adam Scott, Louis Oosthuizen, Marc Leishman, Abraham Ancer, Haotong Li, C.T. Pan, Cameron Smith and captain Ernie Els’ four captain’s picks include Sungjae Im, Joaquin Niemann, Adam Hadwin, and Ben An.
